The Stavely Municipal Library is a member of the Chinook Arch Regional Library

System, which is a municipal partnership of 36 municipalities in SouthWest 

Alberta created to enhance library service through collaboration.  Residents of

member municipalities in the Chinook Arch region have access to the collection

and services of 34 libraries throughout the region.


The Stavely Municipal Library is located in the Stavely Elementary School and is

wheelchair accessible.  The library is a joint use library with the school.  Along 

with books we have a good collection of videos and DVDS’s for the whole family.

There are also four computers in the library available for use.

Hours: Mondays 1:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.   

Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

Wednesdays 12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Thursdays 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.


During the summer months the library also has a reading program for young

readers.  Please contact the librarian for dates and hours.

4 Computer stations for your use with option to print

Free internet and Wi-Fi service

Fax and photocopying services

Laminating service

Comfy chairs at the back to relax and escape into your favourite book

Research your genealogy on ancestry.com at no charge

Teleconferencing made available for meetings, education or video conferences

Accessed through Rise in the Chinook Arch system at no cost

Monthly Book Club meetings


With a one year membership you have access to:


3 weeks time to lend books every genre with option of 1 renewal

1 week to lend DVD movies

Option to place holds from the other 34 libraries in Chinook Arch Library

System for books or movies not available in the Stavely Library

Holds can be done from the convenience of your home once you have

 activated a pin # at our library or you can use the computers in the Library

Use of all 34 libraries if you are away from home

Wide selection of popular Adult Magazines for a 3 week loan period

E-books can be downloaded and ordered from the library or from home

You can return all books or movies from other Chinook Arch Libraries in our

 Drop Bin or in the library during Library hours

Patrons who are visually impaired, have a perceptual disability or the inability

 to hold a book can loan out Daisy titles for use with a Daisy machine or use

 through a computer program downloaded from the CNIB.  This service can

 be registered at the Library.

Inter Library Loans made available for books not available in our Region

Rent our Projector for a nominal fee of $30.00


You can LOOK at all the NEW BOOKS and DVD’s that have arrived in the

Stavely Library under NEW TITLES or NEW DVD’s on the right hand side of

our web-site.

BOOK CLUB 

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday November 5th @ 7pm. We will be discussing October’s Book which was called “The 

Invisible Gorilla: How Our Intuitions Deceive us” by Christopher Chabris. At this meeting we will be handing out our next read 

called “Where'd You Go, Bernadette A Novel by Semple, Maria. A delightful, entertaining, fast read with lots of humor.
