Our Mission is:
The Friends of Stavely Library Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching and supporting the lives of patrons, students, and educators who use the Stavely Municipal Library. We do this by providing resources, communication, and encouraging involvement in the library, school and community. We sponsor assistance to the Stavely Library Board, raise funds for supplemental educational materials, experiences, support school and family social interaction, and provide a non-biased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our patrons.
Our Objective:
The Friends of Stavely Library Society are committed to fundraise for the purchase of books, equipment, furnishings and other resources as deemed necessary for the Stavely Library.
For more information please contact: Bev at the Stavely Library. Phone: 403-549-2190.
Since our inception in 2018 our group has donated $5000.00 / year (2019 and 2020) to the library. We have been busy trying our hands at various fundraising efforts. Our most successful fundraisers have been:
- the Highway Cleanup where we do 20 km
- we also do a 50/50 draw in the Fall
- garage/book sale
- clean up of the Oddfellows Oyster Feed
- a pancake supper
- and other donations (Stavely Recreation Board, etc.)
We are always looking for new volunteers to help us with our fundraising efforts. We are waiting to qualify for a Casino as we are a new society and there is a waiting period.
Upcoming fundraisers include:
- November will be the start of the 50/50 draw
Please stay tuned for more events in 2021!!
Below you can see some of our photos, with donated funds the DVD stand was purchased, next is our 50/50 draw board, then we have Michelle Collins giving our first $5000 donation to the President of the Library Board, Howard Paulson, and lastly, volunteers during our 2019 Highway Clean up.
